Discussion
Banking, financial services, and insurance companies experience a high number of security breaches every year, with no signs of slowing down. In fact, the instances of data leaks have only increased as more people conduct activities online, particularly since the pandemic. Phishing and other hacking methods are now ubiquitous, as they are incredibly successful at acquiring logins and credit card information. As the security threat grows within BFSI, so does regulatory oversight. A new 2022 law requires banks to report security breaches within 36 hours, making it crucial for institutions to have the right processes to prevent attacks, and to recover from them when they inevitably do occur.

On July 26th CISOSpotlight: State of the Financial Services CISO will bring together Information Security Officers (ISOs) from the banking, financial services, and insurance sector to discuss, debate, and explore emerging threats, and collaborate on strategies that will fuel our defense against cyber crime.

This event will feature a panel of vigilant and innovative CISOs who will look through their crystal ball and share their vision on the evolving role of the Office of the CISO. Our will also discuss topics such as:

-
The latest cyber threats facing the financial services sector
-
Mitigating the risk of a cyber attack
-
Roadmap to improve data security
-
How to comply with regulations

The event will also provide an opportunity for ISOs to network with their peers and learn from each other's experiences.
Unveiling the Alarming Truth:
Banking and financial services experienced the second highest number of data breaches of any industry in the US for the past two years in a row (2021-2022), according to Statista.
Over 254 million financial records were leaked worldwide in 2022, with 57% of the breaches due to hacking techniques, according to a report by risk intelligence firm Flashpoint
